The whole thing has got rediculously competitive these days and its a shame. Surely we are all trying to keep the whole, live unsigned music seen alive - its time people showed a bit more support.

I have to say I can see your point about mixing it up but the trouble with that is you quite often find people wont stay they will come to see say a metal band who are on second but if you have i dont know an indie band opening the night and thats not their thing they'll find out what time the band they wanted to see are on and leave and come back!
This obviously is no good as it ends up with a tiny crowd people not having fun and a ruined night!
What would be better is if you can find 2 venues and do wr nights fortnightly and alternate, it doesn't have to be the exact same thing all night but try not to vary too much!
anyway enough from me!

its true, and it suxx0rz. I usually try and stand at the front to bands. I try and get something to eat before the first band is on, but sometimes i miss the first band due to food searching. But when i get there i stand at the front.. and after our gig slot i take five minutes to have a drink and a breather. So basically the best way to get ppl to listen to each other etc is just to stand at the front of the stage supportin the other bands on the night. It does help and it does work.
